Move over apple pie, these Pear Pies are about to steal the spotlight. Buttery puff pastry, sweet cinnamon-spiced pears, and a golden, flaky finish, these little hand pies make for the ultimate quick dessert. Plus, the Crumble Air Fryer makes them perfectly crisp on the outside while keeping the filling soft, warm and full of flavour inside.

With just 20minutes in the air fryer, you can enjoy these flaky pear pies with a gooey spiced pear centre that's incredibly delicious when paired with a generous scoop of your favourite ice cream.
4 pears, cut into 1cm blocks (this recipe featured 2 Packham and 2 Josephine pears)
Place pears into a pot with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir over medium heat until bubbling, then reduce to low, cover with a lid and simmer until the pears are soft.
Stir in corn starch slurry (corn starch & water) and cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely before using.
Prepare the pastry by cutting each sheet into four squares. Place about 1½ tablespoons of the cooled pear filling in the centre of each piece.
Fold pastry over to enclose the filling, pressing edges with a fork to seal. Score small slits on top to allow steam to escape. Brush with egg wash if desired for extra golden colour.
Place pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer but don’t overcrowd. Cook at 200 degrees celsius for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Let cool slightly before serving - the filling will be hot. Enjoy as they are, or dust with icing sugar for a bakery-style finish.
