Your Pan Should Work With You, Not Against You

Fused, Not Sprayed
Any Cooktop, Into the Oven
30 Days to Decide

I can usually tell within 10 seconds of cracking an egg into a pan whether it's a keeper. No waiting a year to find out, no ritual around seasoning it just right. At some point non-stick cookware started expecting more care from me than it gave back at breakfast, and honestly, a good ceramic pan shouldn't need babysitting to earn its keep.

1.My Old Pan Was Never Going to Make It

Every non-stick pan I've owned was built the same way underneath: one soft coating sprayed straight onto aluminium. It always wore through first at the spot I used most, usually dead centre, and once that patch went, everything nearby followed pretty quickly. I hadn't done anything wrong. That build just wasn't going to last.

2. It's Not the Coating. It's How It's Built
🧱 Fused Layer

When I actually looked into what Crumble uses, I realised I'd been thinking about “coating” wrong the whole time. It starts with a Swiss-made primer, Xeradur 5, that gets fused into the surface as one continuous layer rather than sprayed on afterwards like a film. So there's no separate soft layer sitting on raw metal, just waiting for its moment to wear through. It's the surface itself doing the work, not something added to it.

3. A Pan Should Work Around Me, Not the Other Way Round
🔥 Stovetop to Oven

My Crumble pan works really well on my induction  stove, but I've used it on gas and electric too, and it goes straight from stovetop into the oven without a second thought. Metal utensils are really the only thing that'll wreck the surface. I switched to wood and silicone a while back, mostly out of habit, and haven't scratched a pan since.

4. Heat That Doesn't Play Favourites
🌡️Even Heat

There's a 2.8mm aluminium layer sitting under that surface, on a stainless steel base. That combination is what keeps heat spread evenly across the pan instead of bunching up in the middle, which is also why it works fine on induction and not just gas. It doesn't matter what's coating a pan — if the heat underneath is uneven, something's going to scorch.

5. Ten-Second Cleanup. No Scrubbing.
✨ Easy Clean

Technically everything's dishwasher-safe, but I hand wash most nights anyway — warm water, a bit of soap, mostly because it seems to keep the coating going longer. Either way, I stay away from anything labelled scouring or abrasive. Even the sponges that say “non-scratch” on the packet can still carry enough grit to start a scratch.

6. Why Nobody Buys Just One Pan
🍳 Complete Set

It only took about a week for me to notice when one pan in the kitchen started behaving differently from the rest. The old frypan released clean food, but the saucepan didn't, and I'd catch myself double-checking which one I grabbed before I trusted it with dinner. Once the whole set matches, that little moment of anxiousness just goes away.
