Who doesn't like crisp, gooey cheese covering a gorgeous wreath of potatoes? These are the perfect crowd-pleasing side dish that you're going to want to serve up at any festive gathering.
Ingredients
- 2kg potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 45 g butter
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 thyme
- 1/4 paprika
- 1/4 onion powder
- 1/4 garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1 cup ham steaks, diced
- Parsley, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat oven to 200. Butter your Crumble Shallow Dutch Oven and set aside.
- Thinly slice potatoes with a knife or mandolin and set aside.
- Add butter to a Crumble Saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add garlic and flour. Whisk until well combined. Slowly add milk and continue to whisk until a thick smooth paste forms.
- Turn off the heat and add cheese, seasoning and stir until smooth.
- Layer the potatoes and onions in your Crumble. Pour the cheese mixture over the top and give the pan a slight shake to evenly spread the sauce.
- Sprinkle the potatoes with ham and extra cheese.
- Bake covered for 60 minutes then uncovered for 25 or until the cheese is brown and the edges of the potatoes are crispy.
- Top with parsley and enjoy!
