Although enamelled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. When placing in the Dishwasher, it is recommended the pot not to be placed at the bottom shelf. Citrus juices and citrus-based cleaners (including some dishwasher detergents) should not be used, as they can dull the exterior gloss.

Where are the Crumble Dutch Oven made?

The Crumble Dutch Oven is made in the Hebei Province of China. The factory meets all ISO 9001 standards. Why we picked China? After visiting and communicating with multiple factories in Europe and over 20 China, China's top 3 factories were comparable in quality.
With Crumble, we decided to go with a Factory in China's Hebei province. This area is known to produce cast iron/wrought iron products. These were the three reasons why we decided on China over France.

The manufacturing processes are similar to those in Europe, both handcrafted. Arguably China's handcrafting is better as they output substantially more volume. There isn't much difference between French and Chinese Cast Iron from a raw materials perspective, where the difference lies in the enamel coat. The European typically sourced from Japan or the Middle East. Due to labour and materials cost, Europe's price is 50-60% greater than in China. As we can maintain a lower cost base, we can reduce our margins and pass them on to our customers.

How come there are colour pigments on the Dutch Oven?

Each Dutch Oven is handcrafted and will have it’s own unique physiques. There could be colour pigments because of the colour adjustment mixture process. This is not a fault and cannot be avoided. Lighter Dutch Oven colours will be more obvious.

What materials are the knobs made from?

The Classic and Cookie knobs are both made from 304-Grade Stainless Steel. It is rusk free and can withstand up to 260 Degrees Celsius. Please make sure you use an oven mitt when contacting the knob and pot during cooking and up to 30 minutes after.
