Try the viral Flying Dutchman in the comfort of your home with this In-N-Out inspired recipe. Think - perfectly caramelised onions, juicy beef patties, umami melted cheese and that *secret* sauce that we just can't get enough of.
Ingredients
- 400g beef mince
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- yellow mustard, for frying
- 4 yellow cheese slices
- 1-2 large yellow onion, cut into circular slices
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp diced pickles
- 3 Tbsp tomato sauces
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of dried chives
- 2 Tbsp diced onions, caramelised
For the Sauce
Directions
In a small bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients. It will be a pink color. Set aside.
Prepare the meat by seasoning with salt/pepper and garlic powder. Mix well then shape into a circle to desired thin or thickness. Set aside.
In your Crumble Deep Pan over medium-low heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, add the onions and cook for a few minutes until you see the edges turn golden. Flip over gently and cook the other side.
Add the patties and cook until slightly brown. Flip and add mustard on the raw side. Add a slice of cheese and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Assemble the ‘burger’ by stacking the patties in between the grilled onion. Serve with the sauce and enjoy!
